London day 1.
To begin our evening/morning (depending on where you are on the globe) Angela and I were seated on an eight hour Cincinatti plane ride headed for London in front of quite possibly one of the most obnoxious men in the history of the world. After he kicks both of our chairs and pulls back the head of the seat (while yanking on my hair) he gets caught smoking in the bathroom (making the entire area smell of secondhand smoke) and is disciplined by the male flight attendant (including some hardcore finger wagging). Fortunately, the two young girls sitting next to us made up for our potentially aweful plane ride by squealing with joy, as if they were on a roller coaster, as the plane descended.
Next is a 2 hour bus ride through London to Hampstead College which proved much more relaxing than the flight. Finally we arrive and recieve our room assignments into fabulous large rooms (including built in book shelf and bed side table). Needless to say, we’re more than happy with the living accomodations.
Finally we begin our tour walking around the surrounding area and buying cell phones/ sim cards (even though the shady man completely ripped me off, we got it figured out in the end and got a pretty good deal).
We’ve ended the day with a meet and greet of sorts with out co-students and professors. Poor food, but great company.
Needless to say, there’s tons to look forward to in the coming month! Can’t wait until classes start!
